Inter Milan are interested in French centre-back Oumar Solet, who recently terminated his contract with Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg.
Solet has been a target for Inter Milan, as well as Napoli, Roma and AC Milan, but there was no progress in the summer transfer window, mainly because the 24-year-old is out of contract next year.
Red Bull Salzburg have recently announced the termination of Solet’s contract by mutual consent, making the French centre-back an instant hit as he can sign on a free transfer to any club outside the transfer market.
Although Inter already have Thomas Palacios to strengthen their defense, there is still room for new players, especially players whose contracts have expire or who do not have a club, who will be give special consideration according to the club’s guidelines.
The 24-year-old has been sharpening his tools at Salzburg since 2020. Last season, the Austrian giants requested 20 million euros to part ways with him. This figure dropped to 13M when Napoli came knocking in January.
Solet moved from Lyon to Red Bull Salzburg in 2020 for €4.5m and is now a target for Inter, who signed Piotr Zielinski and Mehdi Taremi on free ยูฟ่าเบท transfers last summer.
Inter have barely spent any transfer fees in recent years, focusing on free agents under first CEO and now President Beppe Marotta.
